The Process

Every content project will look a little different, but if we work together, you can generally expect yours to follow this process.

1. Share your project

You'd start by filling out this form. Great content that speaks to your audience's unique needs and problems requires insights only you can provide. As a result, this step is important for me to understand how I can help you meet your goals.

Please provide as much information as you can about your project, including details like:

  • Your name and contact information

  • Your company's name and website URL

  • Services you're interested in

  • Project overview

  • Project deadline and budget range

2. Book your discovery call

If your project sounds like a good fit, we'll schedule a 15-30 minute call to discuss your needs in greater detail. After that, you'll receive a proposal with some recommendations, along with proposed scope of work, timeline, rate, and other relevant details.

3. Sign your contract

Once you sign off on the proposal, I'll send you a contract that includes the project scope, timeline, payment schedule, and general terms and conditions. You'll also receive an invoice for 50% of the total fee to start the clock on your project.

Once you sign the contract and pay the deposit, I'll get to work! Feel free to reach out via email for any questions you may have.

4. Receive work for feedback

Once the final draft is complete, you'll receive a Google document with your content and an invoice for the remaining 50% of the project fee.

You can request up to two revisions within our specified timeline to ensure the piece is to your liking (but we typically won't need them all). For each round, I may ask you for details to ensure I have all the information needed to fulfill your requests. To streamline this step for both of us, all I ask is that you're as specific as possible with your critiques!

5. Decide on additional projects

Once you sign off on the final draft, we'll wrap up the project. I'll also send you a short survey to gather your thoughts and feedback on your experience.

If you'd like to continue working together, we'll assess our workflow, any improvements needed, and the next piece you'd like to tackle. Since this will be the start of a totally new project, we'd start the process again from the top (this time around, over email is fine).

Got any questions? Feel free to reach out via the contact page. If you’re ready to move forward, click the button below to share your project details with me.

How I work

Project fit isn't the only thing I look for when working with new clients. Overall compatibility is important for me too. In my experience, nearly everything else can be figured out as long as we agree on certain things.

Here, I offer a closer look at the way I work. If you're interested in hiring me for your next project, I recommend looking over these sections first to get a better sense of whether we'd work well together.

  • My best work comes from taking time between drafts and coming back to edit with fresh eyes. I typically schedule my work a few weeks out to make sure there’s enough time to dedicate to each client's needs. Therefore, it's usually difficult to fit in last-minute projects and those with quick turnaround times.

If we've worked together before and you have a last-minute request, we can discuss whether your timeline fits with my schedule. However, expect an additional rush fee in order to clear the calendar for your project.

But if you tend to assign last-minute projects, we may not be a good fit for each other. As a general rule, I don't take on assignments with a turnaround time of 24 hours or less.

  • Each project is assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account things like scope of work, complexity, research needed, turnaround time, and so on.

This means that every project is priced differently, so I won't be able to give you an exact number until our discovery call. But to give you a sense of what to expect budget-wise, my rates for content start at $0.85 a word.

  • I don't do unpaid work samples or writing tests for potential clients, as my portfolio page already offers writing samples for review. If you're looking for a piece on a specific topic but can't find it on the site, send me a message with details on what you're looking for.

  • Research shows that switching between tasks can result in lost productivity, more errors, and more time spent on work. This is why I don't take unscheduled phone calls, as they take time away from working on your project and making sure your content is the best it can be.

If you have any questions about your project, please send me an email at hello@felioliveros.com instead.

  • I'm a huge believer in lifelong learning and continual improvement, so when I'm not working on projects, I'm improving my craft — whether it's by learning new skills, practicing the ones I have, or implementing feedback from exit surveys or one-on-one talks.

As a writer and marketer, I also aim to be as accurate and transparent as possible. I avoid making untested claims about the products and services I write about, and I don’t work with companies that expect me to do so.

  • I believe that every person deserves the chance to live their best life, so human rights and social justice are important to me as well.

I support equal rights and humane treatment for people of all races and genders, and I am continually learning to be the best advocate and ally I can be for:

    • Women
    • People and communities of color
    • LGBTQ+ individuals and couples
    • People with disabilities
    • Immigrants and refugees
    • Economically and educationally disadvantaged individuals
    • Underserved communities

Get in touch today

It may feel risky to trust someone new with your content — and even more so if you're on a tight budget. You want to make sure you made the right choice, and you want to leave as little as possible to chance. If you're on the fence, we can start on a small low-risk test project to see if we're a good fit for each other.

But if it sounds like we’ll work well together and you’re ready to bring me onboard, click the button below and fill out the form so we can get started.
